The new version of Octane 4.is gonna be FREE. All the stuff c4d also has but you can use because it makes your render times insane. The same animation in octane renderer with 2 gpu's took 5 hours and looked hands down better because it's being done in a more real world/realistic way with things like pathracing, global illumination, camera motion blur and depth of field etc. Using the physical render in c4d it took 29 hours to render. At work I had a simple product shot to do. And many times you can get stuff better looking because you aren't limited to using direct lighting just to keep render times down.įor example. Products like Redshift and Octane allow you get stuff out exponentially faster. The physical renderer is okay.if you can dedicate ridiculous amounts of tine to rendering your stuff out. C4D's standard renderer is mediocre at best.
